The season will be beautiful at the Bastide de Saint-Tropez

Categories : Hotel, published on : 4/6/17

In spite of the mildness of the Saint-Tropez climate at this time of year, it’s always with great pleasure that we return to the Bastide de Saint-Tropez. Synonymous with holidays, relaxation and cultural events, spring also heralds the resumption of our Barbecue around the swimming pool. Let's celebrate the start of the season together!

The joy of lunch in the open air

When the sun rides higher in our coastal skies, the appeal of a terrace lunch is absolutely irresistible. By the side of the heated swimming pool, in a verdant setting, between fig trees, palm trees and Mediterranean flowers, the Bastide de Saint-Tropez BBQ offers a delicious meal consisting of local ingredients prepared right in front of you by our team. Our chef loves returning to the pleasure of typical summer dishes and is inspired by all the flavours of this beautiful season. Even a simple tomato salad becomes a real work of art; an enchantment for the taste buds. You can also admire the way he prepares the catches of our local fishermen, including sea bass, and grills delicious ribs or calamari fondant. Magical moments in an exceptional setting.

The perfume of wide open spaces

Typically Provencal? Living to the rhythm of the stars? All the Saint-Tropez clichés apply at the time of the Harley-Davidson Euro Festival! Every year, a roar of mechanised thunder hovers over the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and the village of Port-Grimaud in a sulphurous perfume evocative of wide open spaces and American culture. You may be unable to resist your craziest craving to take to the road on one of these legendary machines. From April 28th to May 1st, even the growling of Harley Davidson exhausts will not be enough to drown out the sounds of the party. Meetings, parades, demonstrations and concerts will fill these four days. Among the events not to be missed is the customising competition, rewarding the most creative and inventive bikers. Dive into the ambience of Easy Rider or the Wild One!

Easter in Saint-Tropez

The first long weekend of the year, the Easter celebrations are an opportunity for Tropéziens to get a first hint of summer as they launch the holiday season. Various events traditionally take place over these three days. There is the Easter Mass beneath the colourful bell tower of the iconic Notre-Dame de l'Assomption Church. Easter also features the return of the famous Boule Tropézienne competition. Come and admire the skills of the best players in the beautiful Place des Lices! You’ll see that pétanque is far from simply being a game for retirees... Finally, Easter is when you are invited to taste the exceptional dishes devised by the Bastide de Saint-Tropez chef. White asparagus, langoustines and lamb followed by a chocolate dessert will leave you with a treasured memory.

Saint-Tropez in May

May 1st, May 8th, Ascension Day; the long weekends are plentiful in May. Why not take advantage of these precious days before the start of the high tourist season to discover all Saint Tropez has to offer? Ahead of the busy months of July and August, the Bay of Canebiers, which vies with the Salins for the envied title of the Tropezians’ favourite beach, is perfect for peaceful walks and relaxation. With its translucent waters and easy accessibility, this rugged cove in the shade of tall pine trees is a dream location. For a cultural getaway, visit one of the landmarks of the village; the early 17th century citadel that stands as a reminder of the strategic role once played by Saint-Tropez. This imposing building is home to an exciting Maritime History Museum.

In May, with the superb setting of the Bastide de Saint-Tropez as your base, your options are many!
