The Bastide de Saint-Tropez reopens its doors

Categories : Hotel, published on : 3/19/17

The Bastide de Saint-Tropez has re-opened its doors, and all the members of our team are delighted to welcome you for spring 2017. Our news includes brand new decor for some of our rooms, a new menu offered by our Bistr'o, and the prestigious star that the Michelin guide awarded in February to our gourmet restaurant L'Olivier. This was obtained thanks to the talent of the chef Philippe Colinet, a talent which you can discover when you take advantage of our Plaisir Etoilé offer. Finally, you won’t want to miss the start of the offshore regatta on March 18th.

Rendezvous in Saint-Tropez

The mimosa season has passed and the trees are now in blossom, soft green buds emerge from the earth and the waters of the gulf have rediscovered their turquoise hue. Spring is here, and with it comes all the pleasures of walks on beaches and inland hills, the first sip of orgeat syrup on the terrace, and aperitifs in the sunshine. And, as spring is synonymous with rebirth, we wanted to give a fresh, new look to some of our rooms by redecorating them from head to toe! Paintings, furniture, linen: everything is brand new!

Dishes... full of stars

We announced back in February that our restaurant L'Olivier has been awarded a star by the famous Michelin guide. An honour that we owe to Philippe Colinet and his team, and one that we are delighted to share with you by offering a menu full of seasonal flavours created by a chef with a boundless imagination. Oyster, sardine, as well as pigeon, lamb and monkfish are all on the menu of the Olivier, which you can discover as a couple thanks to our Plaisir Etoilé (Happy Star) offer. Imagine the rich flavours of a gourmet dinner, the sweetness of a night in the intimate haven of an elegant Deluxe room, and the taste of breakfast enjoyed on your terrace. Nearby palm trees wave, and just beyond them the calm waters of the gulf shimmer in the sunshine... A dream to discover until the end of March.

A new menu for the Bistr'o

The Bastide Saint-Tropez also welcomes gourmets and gourmands at the Bistr'o. Here, too, local and seasonal ingredients are favoured. As usual, the new menu highlights a generous regional cuisine that will delight the most demanding gastronome. Fine pissaladière, grilled spring vegetables, mackerel rillettes, squid in chopped parsley or breast of pork confit are just a few examples of a menu that is enticing, to say the least. If you add the fennel, summer savory, artichokes, and lemon preserve that accompany them, you touch perfection! And when you take into consideration the desserts, including choux craquelin, mille-feuilles, and strawberries with rosé de Provence, it only remains to unfold your napkin and await the prompt arrival of the waiter!

The offshore regatta

This 8th edition of the regatta will start on March 18th from the port of Saint-Tropez. The offshore race features three courses for IRC sailing boats: 900 miles with crew, 600 miles for doubles, and 400 miles for solo competitors. This largest race in the Mediterranean counts towards the Mediterranean Offshore Championship 2017. The course takes in the South Balearics, the southern end of Sardinia, the Pontine Islands and Northern Corsica before returning to Saint-Tropez for the breath-taking finish. As the sea wolves sail into action and adventure, you can be there to cheer them on and welcome them back. The award ceremony takes place on March 26th.

Whether you are a lover of fine food, a coastal stroll or water sports, spring at the Bastide de Saint-Tropez has everything to fill you with happiness.
